- As of April 2026, India is the world’s 6th largest economy by nominal GDP, with an estimated size of $3.92 trillion to $4.15 trillion.
- Credit Rating Milestone: In 2025, India received its first credit rating upgrade from a major agency (S&P) in nearly two decades, moving from BBB- to BBB.
- Foreign Exchange Reserves: As of January 2026, reserves reached USD 701.4 billion, sufficient to cover approximately 11 months of imports. India ranks 4th globally in foreign exchange (forex) reserves.
